The Noatum Logistics Director, Route Development is responsible for developing and fostering business relationships with target customers, who ship in and between North and South America, and ensuring profit and volume goals are met to achieve the company objectives. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong import/export ocean (NVOCC) and air transportation skill set.

The Director, Route Development, ensures quality delivery of supply chain solutions and is responsible for maintaining relationships with all account stakeholders. They are responsible for facilitating, monitoring, and integrating the Noatum Logistics service offering, both internally and externally, to optimize service delivery and customer value/satisfaction, and to drive continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Noatum Logistics America's growth by developing new business in international ocean, air freight forwarding and supply chain management, between North America and Europe.
  • Develop relationships with the commercial teams in the USA, Mexico, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal, to foster co-sales opportunities.
  • Expand relationships in France, Germany, and Eastern Europe, as those countries come online.
  • Develop and maintain customer-specific SOP’s and business plans to exceed margin and volume goals.
  • Understand and communicate current market conditions and business trends to create strategies that will increase company margins.
  • Communicate and coordinate directly with internal teams to develop and execute business development strategies for new and existing customers.
  • Report on performance as required, with insight into changes to customer performance and market impact factors.
  • Manage business development programs as assigned to promote business between specific countries and/or product offerings.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum Requirements
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience in 3PL international freight forwarding.
  • Proven track record of new and existing business development in ocean and air freight forwarding and supply chain management services, including strong closing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the international freight forwarding and supply chain management industry and existing relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and time management skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong desire to improve Noatum Logistics business performance, and further Noatum Logistics' product and brand development, with an excellent ability to work in a multi-national environment to develop the network.
  • Experience in using CRM systems and customer call cycle planning.
  • Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to speak two or more languages is beneficial.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, use hands to grasp, or feel and operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad.
