
Key Account Manager - Commercial Operations Maritime Services

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key customers, ensuring the successful implementation and delivery of agreed service levels across all ports and operational locations. The role acts as the primary link between customers, commercial teams, and operations, driving customer satisfaction, operational excellence, commercial growth, and long-term account retention.
The Key Account Manager will support will support the execution of customer-specific contractual agreements, oversee performance management through KPIs and SLAs, and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and create additional value for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned key customers, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership development.
- Contract & SLA Management: Support the implementation and management of customer-specific agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), working instructions, and financial procedures, ensuring compliance across all operational locations.
- Customer Onboarding: Coordinate and lead the onboarding of new customers, ensuring a seamless transition from commercial engagement to operational execution and establishing effective communication channels and governance structures.
- Service Delivery Oversight: Monitor the delivery of services across ports and operational teams, ensuring customer requirements are met and operational performance aligns with agreed service standards.
- Customer Communication & Relationship Management: Maintain regular engagement with customers through formal and informal meetings, proactively addressing enquiries, managing expectations, and strengthening customer relationships.

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within the maritime, shipping, or logistics industry
- Fluent in English.
- Experience in maritime or logistics operations, with a strong understanding of operational processes within the maritime, shipping, and logistics sectors.
- Experience managing customer relationships in international and multi-location environments.
- Knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), customer governance models, and commercial contracts.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Customer-centric mindset with a focus on service excellence.
