Operational Excellence & Solutions Manager - Global Contract Logistics

As a key member of the Global Contract Logistics leadership team, the Operational Excellence & Solutions Manager - Global Contract Logistics will lead the development and deployment of world-class operational standards while architecting scalable, customer-centric logistics solutions.


This is a dual-scope, highly visible global role that will:


  • Drive high operational performance, consistency, and continuous improvement across all regions.
  • Ensure high-quality solutions design, including facility engineering, automation, pricing models, and RFQ support.
  • Enable profitable growth through aligned design, operational feasibility, cost control, and innovation.


This opportunity is open to internal candidates within Noatum who are looking to take a next step into a strategic, global leadership position.

This position will be based in Europe; therefore, the candidate must be willing to reside in any of the locations where Noatum Logistics has offices across Europe.


Key responsabilities:

1. Operational Excellence & Performance Optimization


  • Analyze global warehouse and distribution KPIs and define aligned benchmarks.
  • Lead productivity optimization, cost reduction, throughput enhancement, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Standardize reporting routines, dashboards, and performance governance across regions.
  • Ensure data integrity and harmonized KPI measurement globally.


2. Process Standardization, Quality & Compliance


  • Develop, update and enforce global SOPs for all warehousing processes.
  • Conduct global and regional audits focused on safety, quality, and process compliance.
  • Standardize warehouse design principles, slotting logic, and WMS/TMS utilization.
  • Support regulatory compliance including ISO, QSHE, and GxP requirements.


3. Continuous Improvement & Lean Deployment


  • Lead CI initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Build global CI capabilities through training, coaching and certification pathways.
  • Develop CI communities of practice to share best practices across regions.


4. Solutions Design & Facility Engineering


  • Design warehouse layouts, material flows and MHE/automation specifications using engineering tools (e.g. AutoCAD, simulation platforms).
  • Perform time and motion studies, capacity analysis and layout optimization for greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Standardize global design frameworks while enabling regional adaptation.
  • Embed sustainability, automation, and digital technologies into solution proposals.


5. Commercial Solutions & Proposal Development


  • Lead the creation of customer proposals for RFQs/RFIs in close collaboration with commercial teams.
  • Build robust pricing models including labor, real estate, equipment, IT, overhead and automation.
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses, benchmarking and cost validation across regions.
  • Deliver compelling proposals aligned with operational feasibility and profitability targets.


6. Project Management & Transformation Delivery


  • Oversee automation, robotics, warehouse expansion and network redesign projects.
  • Ensure structured project delivery with clear budgets, timelines, risks and milestones.
  • Coordinate between operations, engineering, IT, procurement and external vendors.
  • Manage KPIs related to design and operational transformation projects.


7. Governance, Tools & Digital Enablement


  • Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, performance dashboards and scorecards.
  • Support deployment of WMS/TMS enhancements, BI tools, IoT solutions and automation platforms.
  • Promote the use of simulation, digital twin models and engineering tools for design and forecasting.


8. People & Change Leadership


  • Lead and develop global teams including CI specialists, engineers and solution designers.
  • Drive training, knowledge transfer and best practice sharing across regions.
  • Lead change management for new SOPs, digital tools and transformation programs.
  • Build strong cross-functional collaboration with commercial, operations, IT, finance, engineering and procurement teams.


9. Strategic Responsibilities


  • Partner with global and regional stakeholders to align strategic initiatives and priorities.
  • Engage with customers, vendors and industry partners on best practices and innovation opportunities.

Minimum requirements

Education & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business.
  • MBA preferred.


Experience


  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Contract Logistics, 3PL/4PL operations, engineering, or solutions design.
  • At least 5+ years in a global or regional leadership role.
  • Proven success in Continuous Improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Demonstrated expertise in warehouse design, automation, simulation tools and WMS/TMS platforms.
  • Strong project management track record, ideally in complex, multi-country environments.
  • Commercial experience in solution design and pricing for RFQs/RFIs.


Language Skills


  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
  • Additional languages will be considered a plus.
